Dear Y.S. Lee Martial Arts Family,
During these unprecedented times, we acknowledge the difficulties and uncertainty the Covid-19 pandemic has created. We recognize the need for physical outlets and the relationship between physical and mental health.
This situation continues to change quickly as decisions are made at local and national levels almost daily. Until we are able to resume classes, we are committed to providing some curriculum for self-study through instructional form videos. Please check our resources page frequently as new videos will be added in the upcoming days.
In addition to practicing new and old forms, why not try some mindfulness too? You can do this together with your child!
Lie on the floor. Place hands or a stuffed animal on your belly. Focus your attention on the rise and fall of your hands/stuffed animal as you breathe in and out. Inhale (belly rises) for 5 seconds. Exhale (belly falls) for 7 seconds.
What do you smell, taste, and hear?
Do your forms in your head! Visualize yourself in the dojang (studio). Can you complete each step in your head? Can you do a “special turn” and still know where you are in the dojang? Are your blocks and punches strong; are your deep stances wide?
One last thing: we are doing a lot of our communicating via email right now. Make sure you’ve subscribed to our email list so you have all our most recent information in your inbox right away.
Thank you all for your patience. Stay strong and healthy.
Master Lee
